Job Description:
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The key purpose of the CDF position is to organize and mobilize the target schools and communities to ensure sustainable impact and ownership of project interventions, as well as to be the direct implementer and information gathered for project activities in the communities. The position will be based in the Makira and Malaita Area Program with 75% of time spent in communities. The CDF may at times perform duties outside of the tasks specified in the JD. The CDF is also expected to commit to the Biblical principle of “walking an extra mile”; sacrificing time for community work without further reward may be required at times.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Community mobilization and engagement
- Project planning and implementation
- Project monitoring, learning and reporting
- Stakeholder engagement
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Three to five years’ experience in community development interventions
- A relevant diploma or certificate from a recognized institution.
- Computer skills
- Understanding community empowerment approaches to development
- Good communication (local Knowledge)
- English (Read and Write)
- Problem Solving skills
- Convincing and mobilizing skills
- Ability to work in a diverse culture
- Networking skills
- Data collection Methodology
