DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Program Management & Partnership Specialist

Join us and be the driving force behind strengthening program management and partnerships across PAHO.

 

The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO), is seeking an energetic, results-driven and service-oriented Program Management & Partnership Specialist to support strategic planning, resource coordination, and performance monitoring efforts that strengthen country-focused technical cooperation and organizational impact.

 

Under the direct supervision of the Head, CSC and the technical guidance of the Directors, Planning, Budget & Evaluation (PBE) and External Relations, Resource Mobilization and Partnerships (ERP), the selected candidate will:

 

• Provide technical support for the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and assessment of public health policies, strategies, plans, and programs aligned with organizational priorities.
• Support strategic and operational planning processes, including budgeting, resource coordination, and implementation of technical cooperation programs.
• Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of the Biennial Work Plan (BWP), ensuring effective reporting and achievement of expected results.
• Conduct analyses and prepare reports and documentation to support planning, monitoring, evaluation, and performance assessment activities.
• Support the design, negotiation, and implementation of technical cooperation projects, including resource management and evaluation processes.
• Contribute to the analysis of trends and issues related to country and subregional coordination, and prepare strategic reports and documents.
• Maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders to facilitate cooperation, resolve implementation issues, and ensure program results.

What is required for this position?

Education

Essential: A bachelor’s degree in a health or social science or in any other area related to the functions of the post from a recognized university.

 

Experience

Essential: Five years of combined national and international experience in the fields of planning, project management, monitoring and evaluation, including experience in strategy formulation and strategic resource allocation.

 

Languages

Fluency in Spanish or English with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese would be an asset.

 

IT Skills

Demonstrated ability to effectively use current technology and software, as well as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). Other IT skills and knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Word are considered essential. Other relevant IT skills and knowledge of software programs such as, Power Bi and Visio would be an asset.

• Knowledge of international technical cooperation and project management processes.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex organizational environment.
• Strong organizational, communication, and report-writing skills.

 

Duration of Contract

This is an initial 6-month assignment, with the possibility of extensions, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
