The OpportunityThe Senior Officer – Protection is responsible for leading integrated protection programming at field level, ensuring effective implementation, coordination, quality assurance and operational oversight of Child Protection, Gender-Based Violence (GBV), and General Protection interventions in assigned camps and host community locations.
The position plays a key role in strengthening both prevention and response components of protection programming through integrated case management, protection risk mitigation, community-based protection mechanisms, referrals, safeguarding compliance, and inter-agency coordination.
The Senior Officer – Protection provides direct operational leadership to multi-functional protection teams and ensures that protection interventions are survivor-centered, age-sensitive, gender-responsive, disability-inclusive, and aligned with humanitarian protection principles and international minimum standards. The role is also responsible for supporting protection mainstreaming across sectors, strengthening accountability to affected populations (AAP), monitoring protection risks and trends, and representing Save the Children in field-level protection coordination forums and external engagements.
The position works closely with Child Protection, GBV, General Protection, MEAL, Safeguarding, MHPSS, Education, Health, and Camp Management actors to ensure integrated and quality protection services for vulnerable children, adolescents, women, caregivers, and at-risk populations.  
Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience within a development organisation, and at least two years’ experience in a management position.
  • Experience working in child protection programmes.
  • Experience in interviewing and reporting on development works.
  • Experience in documenting, analysing and summarising qualitative data. 
  • Experience in providing/ facilitating training, meeting.
  • Has a good working knowledge of using MS Office, and the internet.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline such as social science, anthropology or development studies or any other relevant department.
