Job Description:
The purpose of the position is to manage and boost the volunteer program as one way to raise public engagement and as the first touch point to involve in WVI. The creative thinking in developing various kind of activity needed to be implemented in national level and Area Program level. The relationship among volunteers needs to be groom and strengthen so this community can engage further with WV in various activities.
All staff are expected to contribute to Wahana Visi Indonesia’s Transformational Development, Advocacy, and Emergency Response approaches, and may be required to support emergency response efforts in a timely, coordinated, and accountable manner
Strategy Development & Planning
- Develop various kind of volunteer programs in Area Program (AP) and National level
- Promote and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within and outside the organization to ensure the availability of timely volunteer program
Resource Acquisition and Management
- Conduct events to engage volunteers in collaboration with other units in Resource Development & Communications Dept (RDC) and other dept in organization
- Proactive engage with external partners to develop various volunteer opportunity
- Collaboration with AP and/other RDC units in creating the attractive volunteer programs
- Develop event to gather the volunteer retention
- Create and activate engagement programs for volunteer via myvolunteer portal
Capacity Building
- Provide ongoing support and guidance for volunteers
- Act as single point of contact for communications to make sure volunteers feels welcome and supported
- Manage orientation program for volunteers and provide appreciation plus annual event for all volunteers
- Implement Brand Integrated & Communications capacity building strategy and plan in close coordination with Operations, People & Culture, and Regional Office.
Accountability and Quality Assurance
- Facilitate the recruitment and selection of volunteer work
- In coordination with respective unit/department leader, evaluate performance of the volunteer
- Develop ways to recognize and reward volunteer efforts based on its performance evaluation in myvolunteer portal
- Develop and update volunteers program guideline and standard
- Maintain volunteer database
- Support HEA team in volunteer recruitment for Emergency Response
Networking and Coordination
- Coordinate with AP to leverage the volunteer program variety
- Develop and maintain relationship with external partners for volunteer sourcing and/or program
- Manage volunteer communication via myvolunteer portal and other effective channel
Management and Leadership
- Actively support enabling and positive team environment where staff are able to develop their spiritual gifts and grow in Christian maturity
- Actively participate in Christian leadership and support to enrich the organization’s life, faith, Christian commitments, and ministry to the disadvantaged children and communities we seek to serve
Requirement
- Minimum 2 years of experience working community engagement function or any public engagement activities
- Demonstrate good customer and service and project management skills
- Creative mindset in engagement programme development
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Management, Mass Communication, Social Science, or any related subject
- Personal faith and commitment to Jesus Christ, as expressed through WV’s vision, mission and core values
- Fluent in both spoken and written Bahasa Indonesia and English, with the ability to prepare reports, facilitate discussions, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Minimum TOEFL score of 450 or equivalent.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skill
- Must be detail–oriented and have good organizational skills
- An energetic, analytical, and self-starting approach to projects that involve significant responsibility
- Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
- Travel: Domestic may be required. Comfortable with and excited by managing an entrepreneurial environment with complex work streams
